Peter A. Gish graduated from Dartmouth College in 1984 with a degree in Fine Arts and Comparative Religion. A Phi-Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude graduate, he was the recipient of the Marcus Heiman Achievement Award, the Adelbert Ames Fine Arts Award and the Louis Sudler National Prize in the Arts.
While doing post-graduate work at Oxford University, Peter attended classes at the Ruskin School of Drawing. In 1988, his painting entitled “Vermont Barn” was accepted into the National Academy of Design 163rd Annual Exhibition in New York City.
In 2005, he built a large art studio in Thornton, NH where he does most of his painting when not working outdoors. Peter is a member of the Silvermine Guild of Artists (Westport, CT), the Sudbury Art Association (Sudbury, MA) and the Concord Art Association (Concord, MA). In 2009, Peter and his father held a father/son exhibition at the Zollerkofer Art Gallery in White River Junction, Vermont. In 2011, Peter held an exhibition entitled “Spiritual Places” at Jadite Galleries in New York City. In 2016 Peter won Best Artist [Solo] at the 37th annual ArtExpo NY exhibit in New York City. Peter’s work is held in a number of private collections.
