Almost three years ago, I retired from the furniture retail business and found I had lots of free time on my hands. Always loving design, scale, and color, I wanted a creative outlet to express myself. My good friend was taking painting classes in Fort Lauderdale, FL and I was immediately intrigued with the idea and joined the class. I studied under Nia Nakis who brought me from never studying art to the basics of good composition, techniques and unleashed my passion for painting. I have since taken classes with Lois Anderson at The Umbrella Art Center of Concord, Michelle Garro at Garro Studio of Hudson and most recently studied with Gordon Harrison, Canadian landscape artist. It is Gordon Harrison who has most influenced me in the use of broad strokes, brilliant color and a renewed urgency to paint.
I find inspiration wherever I am, whether walking around town or traveling through various states or Canada. I paint almost every day and with every painting my style develops a little more. My work has been shown at the SAA exhibit in the Goodnow Library, Sudbury MA, Three Stones Gallery, Concord, MA and Gallery Seven, Maynard, MA. I have an upcoming exhibit in the February 2018-May 2018 Illuminations Program at Mass General Hospital Cancer Center.
