Landscape & Architecture Photography
Kathryn, with her husband Jeff, love the outdoors and seeks to capture the spectacular landscapes that exist across the US. We love to travel and to hike, and especially, to capture the light cast during the golden hour, “the sweet light,” just after sunrise and just before sunset.
Kathryn has always enjoyed being creative, from craft projects as a child, to a variety of creative outlets as she grew older from sewing, to scrap booking, jewelry making, sketching and even dabbling in watercolor and oil painting. Visually oriented, landscape photography provides an outlet for her to capture her love for nature while enjoying the outdoors.
In 2010, she seized the opportunity to join her father, an award winning photographer, in an abstract photography course. It was an opportunity for father and daughter bond together in a new way.
Kathryn’s father, John Sklenak, passed away after a brief illness in January of 2013. He asked his daughter and son–in-law to keep his work alive. The passion that had been born earlier, burst anew.
