Jaeok Lee – Ceramic Art

Jaeok Lee

Ceramic Art

Jaeok Lee began her studies in art at UMass Boston, the Mass College of Art and School of the Museum of Fine Arts, and then pursued ceramic arts at the Harvard Radcliffe ceramics studio, where she focused on handbuilt forms that reflected the beauty of nature and her love of gardening. She has more recently been combining nature based themes with aspects from traditional cultures such as Mandalas, which are used as symbolic representations of the universe during meditations and prayer. Mandalas take the form of squares and circles universally through various cultures and she depicts these shapes with ceramic seeds, pods, and flower forms, in all white or colors. Her past exhibitions include showings at the Press Gallery, Harvard Clay Studio, Fresh Pond Clay Works, Danforth Art Museum Juried Show, Concord Art Association Juried Show and Francis Roddy Competition, Korean Cultural Society Juried Show, Walker Cunningham Gallery, and Hess Gallery.
